PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center

This website has many family resources, including tools to combat cyberbullying.

Just as the use of technology itself has evolved, so has the ability to bully. Bullying, once restricted to the school or neighborhood, has now moved into the online world. Bullying through electronic means is referred to as “cyberbullying.” Often young people and parents think its bullying only if it happens “offline,” but as a student shared, “All bullying hurts, whether in person or through technology. The end result is that bullying in any form is emotionally damaging.”

While any bullying is characterized by the intentional, often repetitive, hurt or harm to another person or persons, there are distinguishing elements when it happens online or via smartphone. Cyberbullying – Learn what makes cyberbullying unique.
